1. Controller
The controller under the GDPR is:
Mario Margarone
APOLOGOS

Germany
Email: info@apologos.app
2. What APOLOGOS is
APOLOGOS is a Christian apologetics app (website, iOS, and Android). It helps you search objections, read Bible and Qur'an passages, and prepare answers. You may continue as a guest. Saving answers and verses needs an account. There is no in-app purchase.
3. Data we process
We process the following data:
- Account data: email address and encrypted password (Supabase Auth), so you can sign in (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR). Guest use needs no account.
- Saved items: when you are signed in, saved answers and saved verses (title, note, linked verses) are stored in our database under your account so they follow you across devices (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR). Learning progress, the downloaded argument corpus, and display settings stay on the device.
- Language cookie: a cookie named
apologos_langremembers English or German (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, to present the interface you chose). - Argument corpus: the app loads published debate material from our hosting and database. That material is editorial content, not a user profile.
- Technical logs: our host (Vercel) and database host (Supabase) may record IP address, time, and browser or app information to operate and secure the service (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). We do not use this for advertising.
- Push notifications: a device token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) when you allow notifications while signed in, so we can send you alerts on this device (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, the system permission). Guests are not registered for push.
If you open a video source, YouTube (Google) processes data under its own policy. That happens outside APOLOGOS.
We do not run advertising SDKs, do not sell personal data, and do not use tracking pixels for ads.
4. Processors
- Vercel: hosting of the website and the app WebView
- Supabase: auth and storage of the published argument corpus
- Google Firebase: push notifications (FCM)
- Apple or Google: app distribution, if you install from their stores
5. Retention
Device data lasts until you delete it in the app, clear site data, or uninstall the app. Account data lasts for the life of the account. Push tokens last until you revoke the permission, uninstall the app, or delete the account. Server logs are kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service. Published argument content stays as editorial material until we remove it.
6. Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the GDPR, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in Germany (the authority of your Land, or of the controller's seat). To exercise rights, write to info@apologos.app.
7. Account deletion
Signed-in users delete the account in the app: Profile, then Delete account. That removes the login, saved answers, saved verses, and push tokens at once. Guests have no account. Details: https://apologos.app/legal/account-delete. Local learning progress is removed by clearing site data or uninstalling. See also https://apologos.app/legal/support.
